Woven Bones: If It Feels Alright
Initially I was pretty impressed with Woven Bones’ menacing, low-fi garage aesthetic, but I can’t really say the same for the first single off of their upcoming record In and Out and Back Again. “If It Feels Alright,” just sounds kind of lazy. The chorus is pretty uninspired (“I get up, you get down, you get up…”) and the guitars just keep plodding the same course over and over. I am not giving up on the band completely – I still dig their crusty disdain for anything light and sweet whatsoever – I just hope that the rest of the record is better than this.
