Pure Bathing Culture: “Silver Shore’s Lake”
If the last Pure Bathing Culture tune we posted was a dream pop/eighties throwback, their newest jam “Silver Shore’s Lake” is straight up smooth funk. There are serious shades of Steely Dan going on here if you can discount the female vocals and lack of crystal-clear production. One band out of like a thousand can actually pull this sound off and make it not entirely cringe-worthy. And Pure Bathing Culture just might have the chops – I certainly don’t mind what I have heard so far anyways. Their new EP features both tunes and is available here in just a couple days.
