The Velveteens: “She Bops”
The Velveteens are one of the newer additions to the local music scene – consisting of Kiera Coonan, Jonny Holupchinski, and Jillian Schroeder, the trio plays a jangly brand of “girl group” pop that is highly reminiscent of the early sixties. The Velveteens’ debut tape was recently recorded with assistance from Jeff Lorentzen and Ian Nygaard and will be officially released tonight at the Hexagon. Have a listen to single “She Bops” below, its a simple yet infectious lo-fi guitar and tambourine inflected rock song about a girl who seems to be having a difficult evening. If you dig it, be sure to head over to the Hex tonight to hear more.
