Stream: Royal Headache “Stand and Stare/Give it All to Me” 7″

Since releasing their outstanding debut LP a few years back, and getting a second look when they re-released it, Aussie garage heroes Royal Headache have been painfully quiet. We got them here last year for some shows, but new material has been hard to come by. As part of the Matador singles series, that drought has mercifully come to an end. Listen below to the sweet, more reserved “Stand and Stare,” back by the more frantic, dizzying “Give it all to me.” Both show the band still have their talent for writing slightly fuzzy ear candy. The band don’t try to reinvent the wheel as they blaze through garage rock nirvana, serving as a three-chord temple for lead singer Shogan to rise above with his powerful pipes. Glad to hear them back—hopefully we won’t have to wait two more years to get four more minutes of music.
