John Reis + The Blind Shake: “Brown Room” & “Sea Saw”

Local legends The Blind Shake are joining with everywhere legend John Reis (Rocket from the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu) for an all instrumental surf LP called Modern Surf Classics. Below you can hear two tracks from the record, the more subdued “Brown Room” and the bombastic “Sea Saw.” While a whole LP of instrumental surf tracks may sound like a bit much, with the pedigree of the artists involved in this project, I’m certain this is going to be a ripper from cover to cover. The collective will be hitting St. Paul on their national tour for a show on Feb. 19th with local yokels Bombay Sweets and Pink Mink. If your spirit is slowly being crushed by this cold winter, don’t miss this LP or their show next month.
