VIDEO PREMIERE: Fury Things “Honest” (Show Friday!)
It seems fitting that we get new music from local trio Fury Things as the weather changes from bright summer to the fading hours of fall here in Minnesota. Their power-pop, with its driving intensity and waves of fuzzy guitars, feels like the musical equivalent of your favorite flannel shirt, warm but foreboding of something darker. “Honest” is big sounding, but has a dark undercurrent that highlights frontman Kyle Werstein’s classic, Sugar-influenced songwriting skills. It rolls through the speakers with a heavy hand, but has intricate layers that unveil new wrinkles with each listen. Following a series of EPs and singles, it is an exciting introduction to their forthcoming debut full length, titled VHS, which drops on Modern Radio the first week of December.
