At first I thought that the Cedar was just fucking with us but it appears to be true: Actor Jeff Daniels (Squid and the Whale, Pleasantville, and yes, Dumb and Dumber) is also a musician and will be playing a Minneapolis show on November 11, 2010 at the Cedar Cultural Center. This should be worth attending just for the sheer bizarre-ness of hearing acoustic songs from the guy who voiced Zartog in Space Chimps. Our sources tell us that Mr. Daniels will ignore all requests for renditions of “Mockingbird,” so don’t even think about it.
Letter: Your Say – Parking misery In association with POST OFFICE
Birmingham Evening Mail (England) September 27, 2007 | Rob Kittler I WOULD like to start by thanking the NEC for hosting the wonderfully talented Incubus on Monday evening. go to site escape the car
On a previous visit to the NEC, the car park price was pounds 6.
On Monday my pounds 8 car park ticket (for the pounds 25 show) was a chore to acquire as the ticket booths closed at 7.45pm, around about the same time as most of the fans arrived by car to see the show.
The exorbitant fee allowed us to be farmed into the car park by a very small collection of yellow-clad parking staff ensuring we parked between the lines.
This pounds 8 ticket did not just finish there – it also allowed us to sit in our vehicle for over an hour and a half after the show as the previously mentioned army of staff were reduced to two or three gentlemen collecting tickets from the windows of cars. website escape the car
When we eventually managed to escape the car park, we were lead through a series of cones leading the opposite way to which we actually wanted to go.
It was a full 90 minutes after the performance that we left the NEC complex and found ourselves on a normal road.
As value for money goes, the pounds 25 for Incubus and support covered two hours, but the pounds 8 car park ticket gave me two hours parking and 90 minutes trying to leave the car park, priceless.
A great show was spoiled by unprofessional and inadequate planning as far as the parking was concerned.
