Mississippi Hot Club are a quintet from Minnesota (mostly Northern MN) who make, in their words, “gypsy jazz,” which also goes by jazz manouche or hot club jazz. If, like me, you aren’t very familiar with this genre, give their debut LP a stream below and hear the all acoustic album that the group created in early 2014, a confident and bright amalgamation of various jazz stylings. You can see them bring this swinging music to life tonight at the 331 Club as they celebrate their record release show.
