Allie X Swings a Large Sword To Her Haunting Synth Pop in “Bon Voyage” (Show Tonight!)
After first a Covid canceled tour in 2020, followed by a health-related tour cancellation in 2022, Canadian synth-pop singer Allie X is finally coming to town. She broke out about a decade ago with her single “Catch” back in 2014, but over the years, Allie has developed her haunting, nostalgic pop styles throughout a few full-lengths. Her most recent album, Girl With No Face, dropped this year to many great reviews.
“Bon Voyage” is a darker 80s-inspired synth pop track that kicks off the deluxe portion of the album. Allie gives off some real Stevie Nicks vibes in her vocal delivery while a chorused echoing guitar plays haunting melodies over the synth pulse. The video’s open-space choreography (and large sword) perfectly supports the track’s vibe.
Since she’s already jumped from the Entry to the Varsity booking in just 2 years, Allie X is very poised to keep breaking to larger venues. Don’t miss her tonight!
