Instrumental Post-Rock Greats MONO Celebrate 20 Years (Show Saturday)

MONO has been playing their brand of sweeping instrumental post-rock for 20 years now. To celebrate, the band has booked a full US tour (with a few special orchestral shows) and is releasing a live mini-album from Electrical Audio, where they’ve made all their records with Steve Albini since 2004. “Halo” originally comes from their 2nd album (2002’s One Step More And You Die, which was not originally recorded with Albini) and, for those not familiar with the band, provides a great idea of what they sound like live. Gentle instrumentals give way to massive crescendos and powerful sonic walls.
