Dave Power (he of Solid Gold, bathtub cig and many more) recently put out a great LP called Rare Earth of (self-described) Boards of Canada-influenced electonrica. The album is 12 songs of twitchy, hypnotic, lush electronic soundscapes, ranging from spacey to crackling, with a strong pulse underlying the whole affair. The album, out now on local imprint Bumpy Records, is a first class headphone trip, and I’m sure his creations are going to sound amazing through the pristine sound system at Berlin for his release show tonight (Thur, Sept. 10th).
