Califone
Califone is an experimental rock band from Chicago that Tim Rutili started as a solo project after his previous band, Red Red Meat, broke up. It soon grew into a full band with a regular, rotating lineup that included many former Red Red Meat members and players from other Chicago bands. Califone's first release was a self-titled EP on Flydaddy in 1998, and their first full-length, Roomsound, followed in 2001. All My Friends Are Funeral Singers came out alongside a feature film of the same name, which Rutili wrote and directed.
