New York/Germany based band Liars have crafted a career on making wild and out there music, seemingly always crafting songs that are weirdly beautiful or beautifully weird. Their latest album, the frenzied Sisterworld, splits the difference but ultimately tips slightly towards the later. The first single from the album is the loud-quiet-loud jam “scissor,” which bounces between the verses of ominous keys and haunted background vocals to the stormy, noisy chorus of crashing guitars. The whole album is just as all over the map, just as you would expect from this wildly original band.
