In case you needed another reason to check out Jeremy Messersmith’s upcoming CD release show on May 7th at the Cedar Cultural Center, folky/soul band Mynabirds will also be on the bill, touring in support of their recent record What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood. Mynabirds is the project of Laura Burhenn (Georgie James) who sings a mix of 70’s oriented classic rock, folk, country and soul. There is even a slight gospel lilt to some of her tracks, like “Numbers Don’t Lie, which seems to owe as much to church spirituals as it does to Linda Ronstadt era rock/country.
