Heirs “Burrow”

Australia’s Heirs are described as “post-doom” in their press release, which seems just to be a way of saying epic heavy instrumental rock. On a first listen, Heirs combine the post-rock styling of bands like Mogwai with the epic heaviness of later-period Swans. “Burrows” relies on a building punctuated rhythm and guitar line breaking into enormous synths and tremolo-picked guitars. “Burrows” is from their sophomore release, Fowl, out in the U.S. on April 4th.
