First Aid Kit: “The Lion’s Roar”

For those of you who like to keep track of every year’s hit new female-fronted folk breakout, undoubtedly you know that First Aid Kit is in the running for the title in 2011 (previous winners include Mountain Man – 2010, Alela Diane – 2009, and so on).  While I am still unsure as to whether I am sold on these Swedes’ music, I am looking forward to checking them out when they arrive in our town on November 13th (at First Avenue opening for fellow Swede Lykke Li). I am not crazy about the new track they just debuted from their forthcoming EP, but I did really like the Fever Ray cover we posted awhile back.   You can listen to the new tune, “The Lion’s Roar” below and decide for yourself if they are the next big female folk “thing.”
