Mount Eerie “House Shape” & To The Ground”
Phil Elvrum is one of those unheralded songwriters that always seems to escape the praise he so richly deserves. His rich back catalog, spanning work under the nom de plumes Microphones and Mount Eerie. His latst release, Clear Moon, is under the later and finds Elvrum continuing his work deconstructing pop music with his scattered instrumentation and world weary vocals. You can listen below to “House Shape,” from the previously mentioned LP, along with a recently released 7″ titled “To the Ground.” The 7″ is a more damaged, rankled track that harkins Elvrum’s best previous work, with the album cut a more fuzzy, spaced out affair. Both reaffirm the amazing work Elvrum is doing and continue to show why he is one of the most originoal songwriters we have right now. Clear Moon is out now and the 7″ can be bought HERE.
