Pony Bwoy: “Ævum (Time Crawls)”
It’s not really all that cool to get scooped by Spin of all media outlets (hey, at least it wasn’t NME) but the music behemoth recently shone its spotlight on Pony Bwoy (of Spyder Baybie fame) for his tune “Ævum (time crawls),” beating most local media to the punch. In Pony Bwoy Jeremy Nutzman has reimagined himself in more of a Krayzie Bone mold (without the harmonizing). In “Ævum (time crawls),” he spits out rapid-fire whispers against the backdrop of a Hunter Morley produced slow jam. Nutzman is yet one more of a growing number of Twin Cities artists exploring 90’s-inspired R&B territory, which is all connected to Bon Iver somehow. Enjoy the tune over at Spin or listen to another of Pony Bwoy’s tunes, “Dark Soccer” below.
