The Radio Dept. “Death to Fascism”
We haven’t heard much from The Radio Dept. lately, but they decided to poke their heads up in honor of elections in their home country of Sweden, which are happening Sept. 14th. The title of their one-off single, and the repeated “smash Fascism” vocal tic, don’t leave a lot of room for interpretation about what they are hoping to get across to listeners. The track feels like a less acerbic “Kill All Hippies,” both musically and with it’s simple and unmistakable message. It coasts along an electronic wave, boosted at points by a strutting baseline and drum breaks, but is over in a concise four minutes.
