Listen to the demented noise of Blanck Mass (Fuck Buttons side project) (Show TONIGHT!)
Blanck Mass is Benjamin John Power, half of the outstanding noise duo Fuck Buttons. Power is branching out with a side project of darkly hypnotic dance music that is harrowing and propulsive. At moments it is barbed wire noise, at other times almost joyous dance music. There are melodies and grooves wrapped in layers of fuzz, the kind of controlled chaos that I love. Listen both above and below for some sounds from his 2015 LP Dumb Flesh, which came out on the always-outstanding Sacred Bones label.
