Blanck Mass, one half of noise duo Fuck Buttons, creates beautiful, damaged soundscapes on new LP
Blanck Mass creates a kind of deep, hauntingly beautiful soundscapes that seep into your subconscious. He recently released the new LP World Eater, and it patches together damaged sound collages that somehow come out the other side as beautiful diamonds of electronic pop. Especially on “Please,” a somber track crafted on a yearning vocal sample that builds to a resounding crescendo, the music has a quality that seems otherworldly. Below you can listen to “Please,” which has already cemented a place in my top 10 of the year, along with the more brittle and bombastic “Silent Treatment.” Grab the whole LP if you like what you hear. You won’t be disappointed.
