Bikini Kill

Bikini Kill is a punk band formed in Olympia, Washington, in October 1990. The original lineup was singer Kathleen Hanna, guitarist Billy Karren, bassist Kathi Wilcox, and drummer Tobi Vail. The band is credited with starting the riot grrrl movement through its political lyrics, zines, and confrontational live shows. On Kill Rock Stars they released Pussy Whipped in 1993 and Reject All American in 1996, and they broke up in 1997. Hanna, Wilcox, and Vail reunited in spring 2019, with Erica Dawn Lyle joining them on guitar for live shows.
