Gonjasufi is one of the most exciting new artists to appear on the scene this year. The former member of Hip Hop crew Masters of the Universe recently released A Sufi and a Killer, a genre-defying record that fuses experimental hip hop with world beats and rock n’ roll as well as his own yogic philosophy. Here’s one of the better tracks off of the artist’s debut work. “Klowds” contains Gonjasufi’s growly croak, cloaked in a swirl middle eastern psychedelia. Though the sound is heavily reminiscent of Oh No’s Anatolian funk odyssey Dr. No’s Oxperiment, Gonjasufi definitely places his own brand on the style.
