Local pysch-rock group Magic Castles caught the ear of Brian Jonestown Massacre front man Anton Newcombe sometime in the last few years and really made an impact. The influential (if not notorious) songwriter/band leader is putting out a self titled record on his A Recordings Ltd label (limited to 500 copies) that will collect the material from the bands first two self titled CD’s and their debut Moon Glyph tape. Steve from Moon Glyph was kind enough to pass along the video above, which highlights the seven plus minute warped opus of “Ballad of the Golden Bird.” Look for this great local band to be getting some more much deserved attention in the very near future.
