Leisure Birds “Silver Runner”
Fans of local group Leisure Birds who haven’t caught the band live in the last 12-18 months will notice immediatly that this isn’t the same band you knew and loved. Gone is the reverb soaked guitar from Nick Ryan (who is no longer with the band) that gave the band a slight twang and in are demented kraut synths, courtesy of local Collin Gorman Weiland. The bands second album, their first on Moon Glyph, is a concept album about an “unknown entity from the outermost dimensions of the galaxy to its eventual fall & transcendence to Earth.” No matter whether that sounds awesome or stupid to you, dig into the lucid groove of “Silver Runner” below and know that the whole record is as staggering as the lead single.
