Lorelle Meets The Obsolete: “The In-Between” / Show
Last year, Guadalajara duo Lorelle Meets the Obsolete put out one of my favorite records of the year in Corruptible Faces. Ever since I have been pining for the band to come and play a show in the Twin Cities – and this weekend my wish is finally coming true. They will perform this Sunday evening (5/25) at the Kitty Cat Klub. You can stream a track from Corrubtible Faces below. Their sound is often described as atmospheric psychedelic krautrock, and if that isn’t terribly descriptive, it’s very rhythmic, hazy music with a great deal of guitar distortion washed through it while “Lorelle” and “The Obsolete” trade off hers and his vocal duties. It’s good stuff.
