Beirut

Beirut is an indie folk project formed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2006 by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Zach Condon, the band's main recording artist and only constant member. After dropping out of high school, Condon traveled to Europe, where he came into contact with Balkan music, which became a major influence on his work. The debut, Gulag Orkestar (2006), was followed by The Flying Club Cup (2007), The Rip Tide (2011, on Condon's own Pompeii Records), No No No (2015, 4AD), and Gallipoli (2019). Hadsel (2023) was named for the Norwegian island where Condon recorded much of it in near seclusion.
