Mark Lanegan “The Gravedigger’s Song”
I put Mark Lanegan on the same level as Tom Waits and Nick Cave in the “scary as shit” singers who have written and performed some of the most powerful, commanding rock and roll music of the last few decades. He put out a few crucial records in the mid 90’s (namely Bubblegum and Field Songs) and I was excited to hear that he will be back with another full length LP, Blues Funeral, in 2012. Listen below to the bass driven, stormy track “The Gravedigger’s Song,” which highlights all of the things that make Lanegan so great.
