An American DJ in China
Danny Sigelman was always my favorite DJ at the Current – he consistently spun a lot of crazy jams that I had never heard of, and was always obviously enjoying himself on the air. So, I was thrilled to see Vita.MN‘s cover story on him here today. Turns out he ended up DJ’ing for a state run Chinese radio station in Beijing. It might seem odd that Sigelman (who left the Current because of lack of DJ freedom) would be joining one of the least free media entities in the world, but according to him he is “rarely told what to do or not to do, say or not to say.” Glad to hear that the dude is having some success and hope that he brought some Minnesota music with him to play for the Chinese.
