Iceage: "Broken Bone"
Danish quartet Iceage have been getting some serious press these days – everyone from the New Yorker to Pitchfork have weighed in with varying degrees of praise, some bordering on salivation. Irregardless of the hype though there is no denying that these young men (aged 18 – 19 years old) have created something good with their debut album New Brigade. The one thing that keeps coming up again and again is the word energy. Iceage seems to have it in surplus and spend a great deal of New Brigade letting it burst out in the form of brash, noisy, punk music. You can check out one of their singles, “Broken Boke” below for a taste. And if you like that then come out to the Triple Rock on August 4th for a second helping.
