Listen to the freak-folk of Eartheater on “Homonyms”
The music of Eartheater, at least on the track “Homonyms,” sounds like a twitchy, psychedelic explosion coming from through the cracks of a hippie commune. A gentle, almost hushed melody and serene vocals are pierced throughout with Joanna Newsomesqe chirps and brief flashes of light. It is a constant battle between the brusque and experiemental “freak” and warm and easy “folk.” Proving the talents of Alex Drewchin, the woman behind this new project, neither side wins, but the end result is a captivating combination of the two. Dig “Homonyms” below, and if you like it, find out more about the whole Metalepsis LP that will be out 2/24 on Hausu Mountain Records.
