Watch a short film based of the excellent LP Gang Signs & Prayers by grime MC Stormzy
Grime MC Stormzy made one of my favorite LPs of 2017 with Gang Signs and Prayers, and now he has teamed up with Fader and YouTube for a short film using the songs from the album as the centerpiece. The film, following the tough choices presented to a young boy as he becomes a man, — and the trap he falls into– tells a compelling story in a shade under 15 minutes. After watching the film, if you haven’t listened to the full LP, do yourself a favor and check it out. This album from Stormzy and Common Sense from J Hus really made me come back to grime music after a while of not really keeping tabs on the scene.
