Listen to the Warm Primitive American of Minneapolis Artist The Daily Norm

I first encountered The Daily Norm, the nom de guerre of Kae Layne, earlier this year playing a show in the back of a bookstore. (Note: a reminder that bookstores and other non-traditional venues rule and we should encourage and support them!)
Layne is a solo acoustic finger picking artist from Minneapolis who recently released self-released the wistful, charming Sometime, Elsewhere. The songs are warm and full bodied, showcasing his minimalist style that still fills your speakers, a polished version of primitive Americana that is lyrical enough to dive into but also a great balm to have on while you’re reading a book. Like the album cover, it is a peaceful, dreamy collection of songs that, at least for me, brings about a soothing idea of potential halcyon days. And don’t we all need more of that right now?
