The Tallest Man on Earth: King of Spain

While I am really looking forward to The Tallest Man on Earth’s upcoming material (2008’s Shallow Grave was fantastic) I am not completely sure I am sold on the new stuff just yet. I have been spinning “King of Spain” over and over again, and I can’t help but feel that the lyrics are a little cloying. Sure the melody is simple and catchy, but since Kristian Mattson is such a terrific songwriter I guess I was hoping for something a little less cute.  Maybe I am crazy but does anyone else hear a slight Counting Crows vibe? I certainly hope not…
