Braids: Lemonade
I am really digging this new track from Calgary’s Braids, “Lemonade,” which reminds me quite a bit of the solo work of Angel Deradoorian. Like the Dirty Projector, Braids play experimental, organic sounding music, spreading drawn out songs over several minutes of repetitious synth pop and heavily layered female vocals. The testament to “Lemonade’s” greatness is that it is nearly seven minutes long but due to the songs deft structural manipulations it never really drags.
