This new track from Brooklyn-based doomcore group Batillus is full of sludgy, glacial riffage and blister-burn shrieks—altogether not unlike mid-discography High on Fire (read: when High on Fire was still awesome). As a bonus, the song features demonic wailing by Kat Katz, the vocalist of grindcore group Agoraphobic Nosebleed. “Cast” is one side of a split 7” with Mutilation Rites that recently dropped on Shinebox. You can stream the other track at Haunting the Chapel.

Batillus and Mutilation Rights play Club Gleb tonight. If you don’t know where that is, ask someone that does.
