Low

Low was an indie rock band from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993 by Alan Sparhawk (guitar, vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums, vocals). Their 1994 debut, I Could Live in Hope, released on Vernon Yard, helped define the subgenre that came to be called slowcore. The band released 13 studio albums, including Things We Lost in the Fire on Kranky in 2001 and The Great Destroyer on Sub Pop in 2005. Low played as a trio with four different bassists over the years, then continued as a duo from 2020. The band ended after Parker's death in 2022.
