John Darnielle “Power in a Union”
John Darnielle is best known for being the frontman (and occasionally the only member) of the always great group The Mountain Goat, but he often shies away from the straight up singer songwriter vein. He changed that for one occasion recently, which was to cover the class protest song “Power in the Union” to show his support for all of the great people fighting for workers right in Wisconsin. While you don’t read this site for political commentary, and I can’t speak for the others on the site, but it is always cool seeing a musician you like and respect doing something that serves to reinforce those feelings outside of just making great music. The Mountain Goats have a new album All Eternals Deck out at the end of the month, so look for a Reviler review shortly.
