vsvoid: “State of Grace”
It’s been exciting to see Ghostbug, an electronic music producer that Reviler championed very early, gaining momentum in the local electronic scene and unearthing his stockpile of intricate beats. A mere three months from his debut release and Ghostbug is already working on a new project: Dubbed vsvoid, it’s a collaboration with fellow beatmaker Dom Terrace.
By combining Ghostbug’s eloquently mellow IDM and Dom Terrace’s bompin’ slabs of gaudy dance music on “State of Grace,” vsvoid cut a track of moody exuberance. Unlike the Ghostbug’s Ultimatum EP, this single features vocals, a hybrid of the nasal hum of Why?’s Yoni Wolf and the languorous warble of Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan. “State of Grace” is vsvoid’s only available song so far.
