Stream: 555 – Swan River Yogue (Saturday at Drone Not Drones!)

555 is the brainchild of Chris Farstad, a founding member of Food Pyramid who moved South a few years back. While output from Food Pyramid has tapered off, side projects have ramped up, including Beat Detectives, Dreamweapon and 555. Venturing pretty far into the ambient/new age realm of minimal, 555 has been dropping solid projects over the last few years, including a tape on Moon Glyph. His latest is Swan River Yogue, which was based on a “live performance given at Swan River Yoga in New Orleans, LA,” is nine tracks of sonic noodling and good vibes. You can catch a rare live incarnation of 555 today, Saturday 1/31, as he will be playing the 3:30 slot at Drone Not Drones at the Cedar. Let the warm waves of colorful sounds wash over you below, and if you dig it, but the tape (and other spacey gems) from Constellation Tatsu.
