LCD Soundsystem “Throw”

I will confess to not knowing jack shit about early techno or house music, so when James Murphy not only acknowledges but covers someone from the genre and credits them as a reference point, I have to take his word for it.  His latest release, a B-side from digital versions of his excellent This is Happening, is a single of LCD covering Carl Craig (Paperclip People) and their track “Throw.”  While I don’t know the original, the LCD Soundsystem cover is pretty much what you would expect.  Tight drumming, thumping beats and James Murphy’s wild man vocals.  Cool stuff.
