Casiokids “Fot i hose”
When people talk about Ratatat and how great they are, I generally just nod and don’t offer much to the conversation. It isn’t that I don’t like the band, I think they are incredibly fun live and have had great moments on record, I just have often found them over-hyped. When I listened to the funky track “Fot i hose” by Casiokids, I couldn’t help but think that this is what I wished Ratatat sounded like. Melodic but raw, dancy but not pretentious, just under three minutes of hands in the air idm music at its most thrilling. This is what I had always hoped from Ratatat. Not sure if this song is an outlier and the rest of their material is junk, but my first impression is one of being very impressed.
